Sundays are Music Days 4
Sundays are music days.
But all's good now, I'm blessed with the most amuhzing friends, the most supportive family
and the most perceptive strangers that my frown was turned upside down.
But I guess it won't come as a surprise if my music for this Sunday is a little slower than my usual beats. the funk is still in there somehow but these are some of the songs that either kept me together or tore me apart this week (in a good way).
What are these lists? Concept is explained here. My previous sunday lists here and here.
Same rules, no judgements, no genre, no limits, just music I tune the world out to. :)
1. I've been in love with this song for the longest time but momentarily forgot about it when i deleted my ipod's old playlist. My love was rekindled when the EB of AMDG (ASMPH's dance org) chose this to dance to, and we each had to contribute a choreography. Listen to its lyrics! How appropriate. Slow me down by Emmy Rossum
2. Ask any Fleet Foxes fan and this probably won't be in their radar for FF's best songs, that would have to be the next song in the list. But for some reason, I asolutely adore this song. It's lyrics (you can probably tell Im a lyrics person haha) made me stop and listen. Someone you'd admire by Fleet Foxes
I know I made the list by song, not by artist, but I just couldn't put Fleet Foxes in without putting this song in. I just couldn't. Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes
3. So a friend of mine kept linking me to this artist, and seeing him as a hipster (hihi sorry mount!), I refused to listen because in my mind it would be just another indie band wannabe thing, but finally because my friend was sobrang kulit (persistent) I gave it a listen, and lo and behold, I adore him! Elephant Gun by Beirut.
4. Another song that another hipster friend kept pushing for me to listen to. I never did, even if I pretended I did (sorry raffy! hihi) until last last week when I saw a list of songs he told me to listen to but never did. The song didn't catch me as much as the video. Actually, its the marriage of both the song and video that got me hooked.
If there's one word to describe it, it'd be; Desensitized. The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
5. Been addicted to them after downloading their discography recently and this song's beat and chorus is the most fascinating in awhile, its both happy and chill, something I needed this week.
I Would do Anything for You by Foster the People
6. Okay, so I started the habit of choosing 6 songs, and now I can't for the life of me, limit myself to 5.
Since its my blog, its MY rules. haha Ofcourse what is a slow and thinking song list without Adele in it.
I love the lyrics of this song. "he could change the world with his hands behind his back." Daydreamer by Adele
Enjoy,
Joanie
